A vigorous mountain village situated in the Vernár Creek Valley, dividing the National Park of the Slovak Paradise from the Nízke Tatry (Low Tatras) National Park. It had been known since 1310 as Villa Veneri. Its population formerly consisted of shepherds, wood cutters and craftsmen who produced wooden crockery and shingles. People living in the village still keep old folklore customs.
You can find here a nice Greek-Catholic church from the 19-th century with precious icones.

ACCESS: By bus from Poprad or from the Dobšinská ľadová jaskyňa (Dobšinská Ice Cave).
SURROUNDINGS: Hrabušice, Veľký Sokol (Big Falcon), Stratená and the water reservoir Dedinky.
